Expert services in Bacteriology, Virology, Mycology, Parasitology, Serology, Immunology and Molecular diagnostics (Equipped with advanced Multiplex RT-PCR) including Fluorescent Microscopy. Runs CMC Vellore-certified external quality assurance. Participates in MAHASAR (Maharashtra State Antimicrobial Resistance Surveillance Network). PUBLIC HEALTH & SURVEILLANCE: Leads regional infection control, HIV/AIDS programs (ICTC), and serves as a sentinel centre under NVBDCP for vector-borne diseases like Dengue, Chikungunya, Scrub Typhus and Japanese Encephalitis. SPECIALIZED HUB: Hosted a prestigious WHO/ICMR Regional Centre for Human Influenza monitoring since 2006-2015. First Viral Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (Medical College Level) in Maharashtra. ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE: Offers an NMC-recognized M.D. program (8 seats) and foster student innovations through ICMR research projects and state-level academic quizzes. |
